Mel Awit's Guesting at Vice Ganda's Birthday Celebration
It all started when our group joined one of the longest running noontime shows in Philippine television, It's Showtime Season 1 in 2009. I was the one who impersonated Vice Ganda's ostrich dance for the first time in the aforementioned show. Vice Ganda and the staff were impressed about our performance. Unfortunately, we did not win the daily round but I got the chance to meet Jonas Yuzon, the show's Audience Coordinator. Surprisingly, he had contacted me and told me that Entertainment Live, a magazine show in ABS-CBN, needed an impersonator of Vice Ganda. That is for the latter's birthday celebration in the said show hosted by Toni Gonzaga-Soriano, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla and Bianca Gonzales-Intal.
I had accepted the offer and met Vice Ganda closely and personally. I, together with the two impersonators asked him few intriguing questions on air. The staff cheerfully lent me Vice Ganda's cellphone toy which was very popular back then because of his famous line, "May Nag-Text."
It was indeed an honor to be one of the guests on Vice Ganda's birthday celebration. I must say that this was one of the greatest achievements of my life, to meet my ultimate idol and got the chance to appear on national television with him. So I realized, dreams really do come true.

Mel Awit's Final Recording and Interview at ABS-CBN MOR 101.9 For Life
Out of the thousand aspiring DJ's who auditioned for the DJ Hunt 2016 of MOR 101.9 For Life, I was lucky enough to be shortlisted and be invited for the final interview and recording on May 26, 2016. During the final competition, I was surprised to know that I was now competing with some of the existing DJ's from different stations like DJ Mon Byahero of 102.7 Star FM and DJ Barbie Q of 106.7 Energy FM to name a few. That made me realize that the final round was really no joke and I was also thankful to be lined up with those DJ's.
In the picture, I was with Niccolo Lopez (left) and Ana Ramsey (middle), who is now an acclaimed singer and DJ of MOR 101.9.
While patiently waiting for my name to be called, I was very delighted that DJ Toni and DJ Charlie had asked me to do the time check and they interviewed me hilariously on air. That was really a magical moment for me.
On the other hand, I may not get the post for the DJ Hunt 2016, I will be forever thankful for the experience and the chance to be heard on air. I was overwhelmed with the fact that I was able to reach the final round out of the thousand who attempted to get the post. At the end of the day, it's not about winning or losing but the spirit of trying and pursuing.
